As a professional cellist and pianist, I’ve spent years understanding the nuance of atmosphere how timing, detail, and emotion come together to create something unforgettable. Derek Furino Jr. is a seasoned chef with over two decades of hands-on culinary experience, bringing passion, precision, and bold flavor to every event he serves. Raised by an Italian chef father and a Cuban mother born and raised in Cuba, Derek developed his craft at an early age, learning authentic techniques and recipes rooted in rich cultural traditions.
By the age of 13, Derek was already working in restaurants and catering, building a foundation of real-world experience that continues to define his approach today. He later honed his skills at the prestigious Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, where he refined both classical and modern culinary techniques.
Derek specializes in creating customized catering experiences that blend Italian and Cuban influences with global inspiration. From intimate gatherings to large-scale events, his menus are designed to be both memorable and versatile—featuring fresh ingredients, vibrant flavors, and elevated presentations that leave a lasting impression.
Known for his reliability, creativity, and attention to detail, Derek works closely with each client to bring their vision to life—whether it’s a casual celebration, corporate event, or upscale dining experience.
